Your wedding day is one of the biggest days of your life. For most it is a day you have dreamt about since you were a little girl (or boy!) and as a first time bride it can be stressful to plan it all!

For those who don’t know me… Hi, my name is Andrea, I am the owner of Wild About Tan and recently I got married to my soul mate. Our big day was like a fairy tale, so perfect you would have thought it was straight out of a movie, but it would not have been possible without my incredible wedding team.

It is so important to have a talented team of professionals on your big day, having people who can work together to give you the best day possible is vital to make it a day to remember.

Below, I have collected top tips from the wedding professionals who helped create my perfect day!

Makeup Tip

Ruby @rubyjbeauty

“Choosing a makeup artist who “gets you” is so important for your big day as they are basically a translator for who you want to be. My biggest tip when designing your wedding makeup look with an artist, is to do what feels inherently you, forget trends – you are timeless!”

Wedding Dress Tip

Shade Bridal @shade_bridal

“Choosing a wedding dress is an expression of your inner self love; it’s how in that one perfect moment of saying “I do” you imagined yourself. Ready to start the most wonderful of life’s journeys with that one special person who holds your heart.”

She also said this: “It’s probably the only time I see brides being truly kind to themselves. I love how (you) they look at themselves in the mirror loving what they see. Women are far too critical of themselves. Xxx”

Suit Tip

Nicholas Simon Tailoring @nicholas_simon_tailoring

“Choose a suit that is comfortable as well as stylish. You need to feel at ease on the day and a tight suit will not help at all. And guys, keep your hands out your pockets during the pictures. Stand up straight and be proud. It’s a day to celebrate!”

Cake Tip

Red Robin Cakery @redrobincakery

“I’d say my best advice for wedding cakes is choosing something you can’t wait to eat! Often people focus so much on the look of their wedding cake without thinking about the taste and little extras you can have to make sure you have some of your favourites there. Also wedding cakes are a great place within your wedding to bring your personality as a couple, don’t overlook that!”

Wedding Morning and Night Before

Lauren @plaits_and_pin_curls

“These are my top four wedding tips for a bride planning her morning. I’ve been lucky enough to be a part of brides morning from 16 years old and I’m still absolutely loving it 13+ years later. Each one is so different and full of emotions, whether it be full of tears from a dad’s first look at the bride or giggling at a flower girl who was so certain that I needed to do her toy’s hair too (braiding a my little pony will always be my highlight). I feel so lucky to be a part of them!

Top tips for your wedding morning

  1. Snacks! Don’t just plan on a bacon cob because if someone’s running behind, you’ll be getting married hungry! Make sure there is lots to pick at and plain nibbles for a nervous bride – because if the cook is MIA, you’re still fed!
  2. Paper plates! Seeing a Father of the Bride load the dishwasher in his suit scraping plates gives me the panics! Get recycle plates your party can just chuck. You don’t have time to play hostess (and it looks much cleaner on photos!)
  3. Paint your nails the night before! This is my biggest pet peeve. The door and phone will go 100 times, being frozen with wet polish is no help to your bride. Bridesmaids, get them paints the night before so you’ve got two helping hands!
  4. Wash and dry your hair the night before. Not only is it generally the best for almost every hair type, it stops the fight for the bathroom and hairdryer when you’ve got so much to do (and your hair will be easier to style*)”

Photography Tips

Charlie Coleman Films @charliecolemanfilms

“Weddings are back! It was an absolute pleasure to film Drea and Fred’s wedding day and what a special one it was – so many goosebump moments!

When planning for a wedding, booking a videographer is normally the last thing on the list (for most couples) but after, always seems to be the one thing that excites the couple the most and forever grateful that they had one to relive the day, to re-watch the ceremony and speeches.

It’s also impossible to be everywhere at once on your wedding day, capturing lots of moments that you may not have known had happened is another reason.”

A unique idea that we loved in our wedding was the use of a drone, here is what Charlie had to say about it: “I also use a drone to set certain scenes of the day, showing the landscape really paints a great picture of the venue and shows a different perspective of the location/activity.”

Esther Louise @essieloutriffittphotography

“My passion for photography comes from a relentless desire to capture precious moments. I love unfolding the authentic story of the people I meet; getting to know you and learning about how you connect with the world and the people that you love. I make it my mission to capture the soul fuelled moments in your life, so you have a story to treasure forever – totally unique and yours”

I hope that these tips can help you plan your perfect day, and don’t forget…your wedding tan is the most important beauty treatment to book, and we know someone who can help with this 😏!
