Let’s face it, the general consensus worldwide in 2016 was to run screaming into the New Year! We lost many greats, we witnessed many worsts and we feared that it had something to do with the numbers 2 0 1 6.

If you are anything like me, you didn’t wake up on the 1st January and suddenly find beautiful birds singing a symphony outside your window, and none of the furniture came to life and tidied up your crash site of a Christmas home. No, although we were out of the war path for 24 hours, at least this year knowledge means power. We can reflect on the craziness of last year and work on ourselves, come to expect the unexpected and regain a little more control of our surroundings.

Now that we have that sorted, it’s time to take a good hard long look at ourselves. I for one worked my socks off in November and December and what I find in the mirror the day after the year before is really not pleasant at all. I look worn, sporting a few more greys, and I don’t just mean in my hair, my face au natural never looks selfie ready, but I am looking particularly shady, a few fine lines and I’m ready for a new base before IT’S ready for a gorgeous glow of Wilde proportions.

So, as well as hitting the gym (standard but necessary as July holiday is fast approaching), eating a little healthier though I’ve never been THAT bad, but essentially, I’ve got nail appointments, HD Eyebrows, Hair and LVL Eyelashes booked this month because I like to keep up that maintenance in order to feel good about myself.

What’s even more exciting is that I’ve booked in with Wendy Hemmings of the Lakes Beauty Room to try out a Microdermabrasion Facial. I’ve heard the term banded about a bit in the past year but recently found out it treats dull, tired and dry skin, fine lines and wrinkles as well as acne scarring, pigmentation, blocked pores and blackheads. In fact Wendy tells me the results can be seen after just one treatment. You know that we here at WAT HQ live for instant satisfaction! Even better, it’s also an ideal treatment before having a Spray Tan because the tanning product won’t be sitting on dead skin cells that flake off. Brucie Bonus.

I did a bit of research before booking and turns out it’s already a celebrity favourite, so as usual I’m a bit late to the party, but when I see that the likes of J Lo, Naomi Campbell, Cameron Diaz and Gwyneth Paltrow are all fans, I’m thinking if it’s good enough for those baby faced 40 odd year olds, my skin ain’t going to hate me for giving it a go.

I’ll be back in touch as soon as I’ve been under the spell of those beautiful crystals and let you know how it goes. I’m not one to keep a beauty secret at bay. As we have learned this year from the popularity of the Wilde About Tan Spray Tan, that secret is well and truly out.
